trekking larapinta

I'm headed to the centre of the country to be immersed in my favourite desert landscapes. I'll be embarking on a week-long hike, carrying my weight in camera gear to document the Larapinta Trail. I'm raising funds for Oxfam Australia's work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, working hand-in-hand to develop innovative solutions for the problems they face. To get the fundraising started I'm having a raffle!

BUY SOME TICKETS RIGHT HERE

First prize is a handmade quilt that my mother has kindly donated. The quilt is her version of a Kaffe Fasset pattern called "Shadow Pinwheel" and was made from my recounts of all the colours and patterns that I find so mesmerising in the middle of this incredible country. I wanted the winner of the raffle to have a part of the desert in their own hands. All the fabrics used are 100% cotton and mostly Kaffe Fasset fabrics. The batting used is 80% cotton and 20% polyester; dry cleaning is recommended. At 170cm square, it fits perfectly on top of a queen bed.

Second prize is one of my handmade glass terrariums with a sandy desert and air plant scene inside.

I'm going to sell 400 tickets, at $5 a pop or 3 for $10. The last day for sales will be 30 June 2016 and I will draw the raffle on 1 July 2016. I can post the quilt internationally, but will have to come up with a prize of equal value to that of the terrarium if someone outside of Australia wins second prize!

Fill your digital pockets with tickets, remembering that all proceeds go towards life-changing work.

If you'd like to be even more kind and make a further donation as well - you can do that at my official fundraising page right here!
